Where Do Home Security Leads Come From?
For companies in the home security business, getting quality home security leads can be a tremendous boost for sales staff. People who are not interested in getting a security system can become upset by cold call sales. Cold call sales are not especially beneficial for the company either. A prudent company wants to approach potential customers who have an increased interest in purchasing the products they sell, which in this case are home security systems.
So where do these leads come from? The company itself will generate leads from inquiries to advertisements. These are people who see a phone number on TV and call, or follow a link on the internet to the company’s site. These are highly desirable leads as the customer has expressed interest by contacting the company. The company then generates a mailing or contact lists for sales representatives to contact.
A company can also purchase contact information from a data mining company. A data mining group prepares sales lead lists for a company based on what they are selling. In the home security arena, the sales lead list could include new home buyers, people with new babies, or people who have filed a recent theft claim on their homeowner’s policy. Each of these situations is a time when people are potentially more aware of the desire to make their home secure.
The home security company puts in the order for contact information. They will specify which types of potential customers they wish to target. The data mining company will then provide the list with the customer contact information.
The date mining company purchases various customer contact information from companies the customer has done business. Credit card companies, computer email lists, companies they have purchased from and so on will sell their clients information to the data mining company. When a customer tells a business that they can send information to them from affiliate companies, they are giving them permission to share their information with data mining companies. This is not necessarily a terrible thing. The customer will get many excellent offers from reputable companies for services or goods they can use. Some customers do not like the onslaught of mail, email and phone calls being on these lists can sometimes generate, however the customer has the option to opt out of any list.
