Social Networking Groups to Find Charity Leads
Anyone who works in this business is always looking for more charity leads; we all have our go to list when a new product or service becomes available, often known as our friends and family leads. The larger this list is the more people you have to turn to, before you reach out to other less effective sources; these outside sources generally have a return rate far below those on our personal list. It would only make sense that increasing the size of your go to list is something we all want to work on. Social networking sites are a gold mine for leads and do to the social nature of charity, are easy pickings.
People give to charity for two major reasons; they want to give back to their community, making our world a better place and having something to show off to their friends at the next dinner party. People have a tendency to want to be popular and many of them find that donating their time to charitable causes is a great way to go about it. Social networking sites are proof that people love showing off the things they do and you can capitalize on this desire by making your own social groups about the charities that you work with. Allowing those with interests to join and be a part of your group, you are creating a mutually beneficial relationship. You get to target people that are interested in your cause and those people can show off to their friends that they are a part of your worthy cause.
Through proper management, you can grow your list of friends and family by thousands of people. You will spend less time dealing with cold calling for your charity leads. The development of these groups takes time, but the time is well invested. Social networking groups also have a snowball effect to them. The first few weeks or months may seem slow going as you scrape together members, but overtime the people who have joined will entice their friends to join and the numbers will grow rapidly until you have more leads than you can comfortable handle.
