If you are actively looking at different telemarketing call centers in order to decide which one is best to work for there are a few things that you will want to make sure of before you commit yourself to any one company. While cost is important, there are other equally as important matters to discuss before you go ahead and sign a contract with a new company.

Here are some different points you should discuss with the manager of the company:

Will they represent your company and business in a professional manner and are they polite and non-intrusive with potential customers?

What sort of equipment do they have? Do they offer things such as digital recording, hot transfers, verification of potential leads and do they back up their calls and data collected?

Will you have someone to personally work with when mapping out and implementing your telemarketing campaign?

What size telemarketing campaigns can they handle? Do you foresee your campaign growing to the point that their company can no longer adequately manage it? What sort of guarantees will they offer you that they can keep pace with your growing business demands?

Do they charge you by the hour or do you pay by results? What will they do if they cannot meet your expectations; will you be able to specify what sort of success rate you expect in your contract?

What is their confidentiality policy? Are they prepared to sign a contract stating that your business and strategies will remain confidential?

Aside from these basic questions you can also tell a lot about a company by how well they handle your business inquiries. For example, are they polite and considerate in their communications with you? Do they answer their telephones promptly and are their telephone operators friendly and cooperative when you call? They should also be willing to work on a smaller project with you initially, in order to allow you to assess their services. You should also inquire as to whether they have ongoing training programs for their employees.

A good telemarketing call center should comply with your expectations regarding these matters. If they do not, you would be better off seeking for a different company to work with, one that can fill your needs adequately.

Outsourcing To A Telemarketing Call Centre

There are pros and cons to operating an in-house call centre, rather than outsourcing to a telemarketing call centre. The main advantage to having it operate within your own company is that you will have total control over your telemarketing. You can ensure that the telemarketers you hire work with scripts that your company has prepared and you can more easily oversee them and measure their results on a much more regular basis. However, come businesses do not feel confident that they can handle the entire telemarketing business themselves, thus they prefer to outsource it to a separate company. There are also a lot of additional expenses incurred when setting up telemarketers, which you would not have to be concerned about if you outsourced instead.

One of the advantages to outsourcing is that you do not need to hire additional employees and provide them with necessary training and equipment so they can do their job adequately. This is definitely an advantage if you do not have enough staff to manage this type of a department, or if your office is somewhat short on space. There are additional expenses beside salaries that need to be paid when you hire more employees. Also, the more people you have working for you, the more managers and department heads you need in order to properly oversee and manage the additional staff. Many businesses prefer to keep their staff to a minimum, thus reducing the complexities that occur when you have many employees.

Telemarketing is a business in its own right. If you are set up and trained to sell insurance, to produce and market a product or if you provide other services you may not feel ready to take on another business and learn all of the intricacies involved in managing it properly. Outsourcing your telemarketing helps to keep your business model simple and easy to manage. You can focus on what you do well, and leave your advertising and telemarketing campaigns in the hands of those who excel at it.

There is usually little difference in the cost of hiring your own telemarketing team and setting them up with all the needed equipment, and contracting a telemarketing call centre to take care of it for you. Any additional costs you may incur may be worth it if you factor in the additional time and management it would take to set up your own center.

Keys To Launching A Successful Telemarketing Campaign

Many people think that buying leads and hiring a company to help launch a telemarketing campaign is going to bring guaranteed success. While this may be the case in some situations it is not always the case as there are many factors that go into making a campaign a success; many of which rest with the clients themselves.

If you have never done an outbound telemarketing campaign before you may be surprised to find that your participation is essential in order for it to be truly successful. Any company running a campaign for you that tells you differently is probably not the best company to use. First of all, it is important that you, as a client, have realistic expectations as far as what type of returns you will get. If you are expecting something as high as 15% returns you may have set your expectations too high. Normally a 3% to 5% success rate is more realistic.

When buying your leads, it is also important to buy from a very reputable company. Many companies sell leads that are outdated, have not been verified or that have been sold to several other buyers at the same time. Look for lists that are exclusive, with contact information that has been verified.

When deciding on a demographic area to reach with your campaign, make sure you have researched the type of people living in the area. For example, if the area has a lot of Spanish speaking homeowners and you are trying to sell them home insurance be sure that you have someone on your staff who can communicate in Spanish. If your services or what you are trying to promote and sell is expensive, target those people who can afford what you are offering. Targeting the wrong audience can result in less than satisfactory results.

Finally, you will most likely need to provide the telemarketing team with the script they are to use when calling. If you are not sure how to write a successful script, discuss it with your telemarketing company. Ask for feedback received when people call and adjust your script, and any answers that may be needed, accordingly. This type of interactive involvement with the campaign is essential if you want high success rates.

A telemarketing campaign can be very successful providing there is a lot of continued involvement on your part, and providing that you can assimilate any feedback and advice you receive from those running the campaign for you.
